The Goose that laid the Golden Eggs




One morning he found something strange. One of the eggs was dark yellow and
veryheavy.
This story is about Tom and Elena. They lived in a small cottage. They were poor but they had everything they needed. They had a goat, garden to grow vegetables, hens and geese for fresh egg. Every morning, Tom collected the eggs, then took them to sell in the village. One morning, he found a strange egg which was dark yellow and very heavy. He sell it to the goldsmith, so he bought a new dress for Elena to spending the money. Then, the next morning, he found another golden egg. Every day Tom sold a gold egg, so they were rich!!!!!!! Unfortunately, the goose killed by them to want to be richer. They had been too greedy. Now they had lost everything. Afterward, he never found another golden egg. The moral of the story about the golden eggs is: Don't be greedy or you might lose everything.Usborne first reading, YL=0.8, words 1006.
